| Customer Reviews: use the gilbert's, not the emanuel's January 11, 2008 Keith Hilzendeger (san francisco, california) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I initially began studying with the Emanuel's, but switched to the Gilbert's because it covered more topics in greater detail than the Emanuel's. In my preparation for the California bar exam, I appreciate the Gilberts' inclusion of specific citations to California law where appropriate.
Good, but could be better December 31, 2008 Yon S. Sohn (Reno, NV, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If your class/textbook deals only with Fed. R. Civ. P. (as in my situation), then there are a lot of sections in this book that does not pertain to you. They discuss both the code and rules procedure, so you may have to sift out the unnecessary stuff. Otherwise, it has very good overview of the subject.
Awesome Study Guide September 12, 2009 Langara (Arizona) I bought this book as part of the The First Year Program which contains a total of five outlines (Civil Procedure, Contracts, Criminal Law, Property, and Torts), plus Gilbert's Dictionary of Legal Terms and Gilbert's 8 Secrets of Top Exam Performance in Law School by Charles Whitebread. It got me through my first year of law school and I highly recommend them to all first year law students.
Very Helpful October 5, 2009 T. Wernette (Orange County) This book is very helpful in laying out an outline for civil procedure, especially for a 1L class. I found it useful in filling in the blanks that the professor had left as well as making connections that I didn't previously understand.
